A Duquesne man faces sentencing March 6 for third-degree murder in the slaying of a teenager who was shot while he was sitting on his back porch.
Allen Booth, 21, of North Second Street, entered the guilty plea Monday in Allegheny County court in the death of Christopher Jordan, 17, of North Third Street, Duquesne, on June 28.
Common Pleas Judge Lawrence O'Toole ordered a presentence report on Booth, who faces a possible maximum term of 20 to 40 years. Booth also pleaded guilty to firearms charges.
Assistant District Attorney George Heym said the evidence indicated that Booth drew the pistol, pulled back the slide to place a bullet in the chamber, then aimed the weapon at Jordan and pulled the trigger. The bullet struck Jordan in the chest, and he died later at UPMC McKeesport.
